Day 12 is done! That means we are 20% done with the challenge!! OMG! It gets easier every day! I leave on Monday for France so we'll see how I do with the jet lag and travel- it gets easier every day so I'm confident! I killed it at the gym yesterday and I was feeling great! I did 2 full run intervals and I added a segment at the end for 3 minutes at 7.2 mph and 1 minute at 8 mph for 4 miles total- it was awesome!
Started off the day so good! Jonathan and I woke up at 5am and went to the gym- power couple!! I did lots of arms with free weights, lots of reps with only 5 pounds (don't want to get bulky!!). Jonathan spotted me and I did bench press for 3 sets of 5 too- he laughed at first but I needed the spot haha. Taking out carbs after 3pm and eating more frequent meals is keep me between 1100-1550 calories a day just to give you an idea of what I'm doing.
Double digits already!?! I feel amazing today! This natural energy makes such a difference. Even my skin is getting clearer! I am a huge fan of this change in eating habits and with all of these incredible results from better sleeping, cleaner energy and clearer skin... oh yea and the banging body!!... it's going to be really easy keeping up with it! I even had a "skinny" dream last night and when I woke up I felt so fit. My brother is thinking of joining the challenge and Shaina joined yesterday as her Day 1! Welcome!!!! How is everyone doing?? Mom did a great comment post yesterday so be sure to take a look!
Also, just found out that I'll be starting my travel earlier than expected this month, I leave for France on Monday. Looking forward to keeping on track on the road! Good morning everyone! Yesterday was a great day! It was also a cheat day for me hahaha. I looked up a lot of information on the non-dairy part of the challenge, you can decide if it's right for you. I'll be doing the no dairy portion of the challenge as well. I'm even dropping yogurt! I'm really hoping it will help with the way I feel too. Fingers crossed!
So I was wondering why we are cutting out dairy and wanted more information on this so I did lots of searching online and I TOTALLY agree with the no dairy! Thought I would share the information I found with you so you could decide for yourself as well. Just a few items:
Dairy IS linked to cancer Dairy IS NOT proven to help improve bones- you can find more calcium in Kale There are lots of dairy free options Dairy IS NOT good for your skin Dairy WILL make you feel sluggish, less regular and is part of weight gain I'm In to give it a shot! I'll try to post some non-dairy alternatives too over the next week or so to grocery/recipes. We are already starting to see results in the first week! Mom has already lost 2.5 inches off her waist line (and everywhere else!) and I'm down 2.5 pounds. I'm going to wait to measure again until next week then I'll let yall know! The first week will have the biggest impact because if you're doing it right you will lose water weight, bloat, etc. so take advantage- plan and do it right! I'll keep posting recipes, grocery lists, etc. to help you along too!
The food is 70% so don't skimp on it! Before you eat drink a full glass of water. And if you're thinking of cheating on yourself wait 15 minutes and ask yourself if you ate it every day what would you like? Then decide if you still want it- try to substitute for it. Having trouble getting motivated to workout? Do an online image search for workout motivation, etc. and the photos will get you in the mood! Days 6 & 7 were Saturday and Sunday for me. It was definitely a tough weekend! I drank 9 glasses of water Saturday and 8 glasses on Sunday but it wasn't enough. Between the lack of water, the terrible green tea at our house and my girl time starting this week I was STARVING all weekend! I did lots of prep work for the week like the spicy chick peas (awesome!), kale chips (OK) and quinoa tabouli (haven't decided yet...).
Yesterday was grocery shopping day which took quite a while to start prepping things for next week. I got a great new hummus (?) that I LOVE called Cedars, I got garlic lovers and roated red peppers. I don't like the Josephs one so this is perfect for me! I was dipping carrots in it last night while I was unloading the groceries, PERFECT :).
Today and tomorrow I'll be doing lots of prepping with new recipes and also cleaning the house! |
